Reindeer shoes and mixed emotions
We wanted to wait until well after the holidays to tell you about Teriteja, the Scandinavian shoe designer who works in...reindeer leather. It is, of course, hypocritical of me to feel a greater sense of loss over a reindeer than a cow. But cows never delivered me Barbies when I was a kid. So, it is with much regret that I inform you—Teriteja shoes are awesome.
Designed by Terhi Pölkki of Finland, a graduate of the London College of Fashion, the shoes are developed from reindeer leather and reindeer hoof, and the heels are made from curly birch. Still relatively unknown in the US, you'll be proud to be one of the first Americans to wear this designer.
