Bag "It"
During the weekend (and let’s be honest—most of the week), the average Angeleno throws on jeans, a buttery tee, flip-flops or ballet flats and a radiantly extravagant bag. Couture consciousness does pull us towards established European and New York fashion houses, but, on good days, hot local designers also attracts attention. Allison Burns’ new Deluxe collection (including the explosive fire engine red Atomic, pictured here) is making waves. But it’s her upcoming high-end unisex Captured collection for fall 07, that’s already caught on. Mary-Kate Olsen, who clearly has her pick of purses, is already flaunting the Medium Satchel with whip stitched zipper pockets around town. Now available for pre-order on the L.A. designer’s website, there is already a mile long waiting list.
