Tales of the City
While dwelling on atrocities is not always a helpful exercise, acknowledging a significant event and cultural shift is important. September 11th’s tragedies may have darkened the Big Apple, but on this year’s anniversary a group of people in Venice are helping reignite New York’s Spark. In celebration of the city, the theme of this month’s Spark Evening of Storytelling is "New York Stories." At 7:30 p.m. a group of seven writers will read their sometimes humorous, sometimes dramatic and often poignant personal essays about that famous concrete jungle. Refreshments are served on the patio. Reservations are required. $10 or a donation, 3116 Second St., 310 396-3680, 5#
