Pick of the Day: Everyday Emmy Eyes

Once reserved for photo shoots and awards shows, eyelash extensions are now simply a fact of life. "It's the new boob job,' says D'Lashes' Dionne Phillips. Suitable for starlets and soccer moms alike, extensions "don't need to be ultra glam or drag queen glam, just pretty," she says. Give Phillips an hour and a half and the bubbly former model will free you from mascara for weeks. She diligently glues individual extensions to natural upper lashes to give eyes extra oomph and allow clients to wake-up with perky perfectly curled lashes. Phillips adjusts the final result from natural to full on glamour and expects lashes to last two to three weeks depending on natural lash growth and daily care. Come Sunday, she expects to see lots of faux lashes and dewy natural make-up on Emmy's red carpet while recommending lashes, gloss and a bit of self-tanner for an easy everyday look. ($350 initial application, $75 - $150 for follow-ups) D'Lashes, by appointment only; 9911 W. Pico Blvd., Studio 22, Beverly Hills; 888-517-5128 or 310-552-8174.
