Fusing Glass and Fashion
Who knew that bottle of Corona you had with lunch could turn into wearable art? Solana Beach-based Kiwi Studios takes broken and ground-up pieces of glass, throws them in a kiln at 1,200-1,500 degrees, and fuses the shards into pendants, plates and other accessories. A highlight from the organically beautiful collection is the Alex buckle, layered in burnt orange, white and chocolate. And since each piece is handcrafted from scratch, you’re guaranteed a one-of-a-kind creation. $95, kiwistudios.net
