Kelly Lynch and pals at the "Movies Rock" party

I was invited to the pre-launch party of Conde Nast's new film mag "Movies Rock" by my good friend Miggi Hood, whom I have mentioned in this blog before. I arrived and Miggi whisked me over to chat to the actress Kelly Lynch, who was there looking gorgeous as always, in a cream silk Louis Vuitton number with dramatic slashes along the sleeves and back. "I call it Louis Vuitton Punk," she mused, adding that she was considering chopping off her trademark tresses. Her daughter Shane was there, and she seems to have inherited her mom's excellent genes. Mother and daughter are pictured here, with Mitch Glazer, Lynch' s husband.
Writer/producer Glazer is editing Movies Rock, with Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter serving as editorial director. Bill Murray appears on the cover...as Elvis. The magazine covers music and its impact on film making, and launches as a supplement in the December subscriber issues of 14 Condé Nast publications.

Cuba Gooding Jnr., who was filming in the vicinity, showed up with a dapper friend. Their comedy double-act had us all in stitches. (That's me with Cuba, who I've crushed on since his "Boyz N the Hood" days).
I chatted to Miggi's good friends, writer and producer Billy Kimball and his lovely wife Alexandra (pictured). Billy is working on a mysterious invitation-only blog (Groucho Marx would have approved). And Alexandra chatted about the joys of Melrose Place, where she works with the Oscar de la Renta store on events, public relations and the such. "It's one of the few shopping neighborhoods in L.A. where you really can just wander around on foot," said Alexandra, a recent New York transplant.
