The Founding Father of Stilettos Returns (NYC)

New Roger Vivier shoes will launch at SaksIf you dont know the name Roger Vivier, you need to make tracks to Saks to pay homage. Vivier (aka the "Faberge of footwear") created a girls best friend in fashion -- the stiletto -- in the 50s, and his namesake line of shoes was recently revived by Tods founder Diego Della Valle and shoe designer Bruno Frisoni. The Vivier house -- whose fans include style icons from Maria Callas to Nicole Kidman -- has just hosted a cocktail party at Saks in Manhattan to celebrate the arrival of the new collection, which includes an updated Pilgrim shoe, the square-toed buckle style that Catherine Deneuve made famous in "Belle de jour."
