Kate Spade and Chaiken Take the Pavilion (NYC)
Passers-by had better watch out for the pack of spend-thrifty style hounds swarming the Metropolitan Pavilion today for the kick-off of the semi-annual Kate Spade and Chaiken sample sales. Through April 28, Spades handbags, shoes and paper goods will be offered at wholesale prices and below on the ground floor. And through April 27, Chaikens separates, knits and dresses will be marked down nearly 70%, with every item at least half off, in the fourth-floor gallery. 123 W. 18th St., (212) 334-3501
