L.A.'s Hugo Boss- and Armani-clad masses should take a sartorial cue from an original like "The Hours" helmer Stephen Daldry, right, who is often spotted in Paul Smith's trademark striped shirts. The hip U.K. menswear designer is coming to town for a trunk show on Oct. 27 at Neiman Marcus in BevHills, so now's the time to ditch the staid solids for a little vertical integration.
